Sharon Zachariah is a commercial and technology lawyer and founder of Innovation Law. Formerly a partner in well-regarded London law firms Waterfront Law and Laytons ETL, she was Head of their Commercial, Data Protection and Technology Departments. With more than a decade of in-house experience at international organisations like the Institution of Engineering and Technology, YouGov, the Bank of New York Melon and London South Bank University, she brings a uniquely broad, sector-agnostic perspective to complex contracting and regulatory challenges.
A seasoned speaker and trainer, Sharon has delivered seminars for clients, in-house teams and international legal network Libralex, including sessions on contracting best practice and the responsible use of AI in legal services. Across every senior role—from leading departments to managing legal functions in global businesses—she has trained lawyers, commercial teams and executives to negotiate effectively, manage risk and build compliant, scalable processes.
A long-standing contributor to the WorldCC community, Sharon facilitated a session at the 2014 a WorldCC (then IACCM) Copenhagen conference on how to set up an effective legal department and received a WorldCC (then IACCM) Innovation Award in 2015 for her work in that area.
Fluent in six languages and known for her clarity, energy and practical insight, Sharon combines deep technical expertise with a creative, engaging communication style that makes complex legal topics accessible and actionable for diverse audiences.
